Report on pensioners meet of the national insurance co held on 20th June 2024
REPORT ON PENSIONER'S MEET OF THE NATIONAL INSURANCE CO. HELD ON 20TH JUNE, 2024 AT 2:30 PM ONWARDS AT GIPA MUMBAI OFFICE, 3RD FLOOR, STERLING CINEMA BUILDING, FORT, MUMBAI.
The National Pensioners gathering at the GIPA OFFICE was a grand success. Overall 34 pensioners from National Insurance were present besides 11 volunteers of GIPA .
Comrade Ganesh Deorukhakar Jt. Secretary anchored the meet. Mr. G R. Saool, Mr. Vilas Sawant Secretary GIPA informed the members about the purpose of holding such meetings of each of the General Insurance Public sector companies. The response from the attending members was extremely good as many of them had come from Kalyan, Badalpur, Bhiwandi, Borivali like far off places when it was raining!
There were good suggestions from them like,
Having such small gatherings at least twice a year.
For receiving money for the GIPA use QRCODE. On showing our readiness Mr.Sunil Bandodkar promptly paid Donation Rs. 1001/- by making use of the QRCode.
He also suggested to make use of Gmail for the dissemination of various information. In fact he demonstrated how it could be done.
Mr. Arvind Suratkal. requested for organizing the submission of Mediclaim at the nearby Division/ Branch office of the company.
Many pensioners were of the views that members in their WhatsApp group should avoid sending Good morning messages.
Before the commencement of the meeting each of the members present introduced themselves.
On appeal from Ganesh Deorukhkar for volunteering to work and support GIPA following members expressed their willingness:

BESIDES THERE WERE AT LEAST 5 WOMEN PENSIONERS PRESENT.
Mr. Lalit Suvarna the Working President of GIEU employees union also addressed the gathering. He gave some very important aspects about the Increase in Family pension, updating of pension and also about the Wage revision for in service employees. He also cautioned about the ill effects of GIBNA Act which authorizes the directors of draconian powers to affect the pension.
He also shared the historical facts about the merger of three companies and how illusory it is at the moment.
He informed the pensioners about the efforts made by the employees union for the benefits of the pensioners.
Mr. Udayan Bannerjee Working president of GIPA W.Z, and General secretary GIPAIF gave the in detail account of the workings of the association, its activities and the efforts made for retaining the facilities/pension and achievements made by the association so far. He also appealed to the younger members for participating in the activities of the association. He informed that with the PAN India membership of 13000 plus we are the strongest association in the industry as on date. Besides our affiliations with BHARAT PENSIONER'S an all India pensioners association for central government employees our demands could not be ignored on flimsy pretexts. He appreciated the presence of Pensioners from National Insurance and expected the similar participation and support in all the activities in future.

This was the second such meetings earlier one being for pensioners of New India Assurance, next in line are Pensioners from United India Insurance and The Oriental Insurance companies. The dates for the meetings will be announced soon.
